"Keep America Beautiful" has started a cigarette litter prevention program and Dormont, through the DCDC/Main Street Program, was selected as one of several host communities to launch this campaign. A clean up cigarette butt litter was done by the DCDC which partnered with the Mount Lebanon United Presbyterian Church. In return for picking up over 2000 butts, a $1,500.00 grant was awarded to the DCDC to be used to purchase cigarette ash receptacles for the business district.

Dormont Main Street is selling cornstalks for only $4.00/bundle.

To pre-order, call 412-341-6733.

For pick up, look for us at the upcoming Dormont Street Fair on Saturday, October 11th!

In spite of the Penguins playoff game, there was a good turn out at our first recruiting meeting and many members of the community expressed an interest in becoming a member of of a committee!

We are considering holding another public recruiting event in the near future - stay tuned...
